ECONONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s Cabinet of Ministers had cleared Appropriation Bill for 2023 allocating spending and borrowings for 2023 Minister Bandula Gunawardana said.
The publishing of the Appropriation Bill is the first stage of preparing the budget for 2023.
The Bills sets out capital expenditure 1,225 billion rupees and recurrent spending for general services of Rs2432 billion rupees, according to a statement.
The gross borrowing requirement is 4,429 billion rupees.
The data in the Appropriation Act may not directly correspond to standard budget presentation due to different treatment of maturing debt and interst. (Colombo/Oct04/2022)
