The decision to conduct the entrance exam to the Law College only in English will be referred to the Incorporated Council of Legal Education in order to take appropriate action, Justice Minister Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe said in Parliament yesterday (04).
The Minister said this in response to a question raised by Anuradhapura District MP M.Mahroof.
MP: “A law has been introduced stating that the Law College entrance exam can only be written in English. This is unfair for the children in our areas.”
Minister: “The issue of English in the Law College came up in 2013 as well. I changed it in 2015. Today, the new decision has been made according to a gazette notification issued two years ago. I will refer this to the Incorporated Council of Legal Education and take appropriate measures. I will make sure that there is no injustice to the students.”
