Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa in his Thai Pongal message said that he wishes all Hindu devotees and people around the world a blessed Thai Pongal day of devotion, mphassing the importance of transcending narrow differences such as race, religion, caste, and living a life in harmony with nature.
He said, “Thai Pongal is a Hindu festival celebrated with great devotion and festivity to express gratitude to nature and all living beings to bless them with successful self-sufficiency in their agricultural activities.
This special day which means harvesting festival is celebrated today.”
