Sri Lanka will sign Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with several states.
The first round of proposals has been made at diplomatic level for FTAs with India, China and Thailand. Thailand has expressed its consent to the proposal presented by the Government.
The FTA will be discussed with the heads of the Thai Government who will be visiting the country on January 8 and 9. The Government will also resume negotiations the previous regime held with Bangladesh.
The talks with Bangladesh will take place via Zoom. A senior Government spokesperson said that further action regarding the FTAs will be taken by the International Trade Office.
