Almost 3,553 people have been taken in for questioning by the police for criminal and violent acts caused countrywide from May 9 to July 9, this year. Of them, around 255 people have already been released on bail after being produced in courts.

The CID and the Police have launched operations to apprehend more people responsible for damaging Temple Trees, the President’s House, the Prime Minister’s office and setting fire to President Ranil Wickremasinghe’s private residence, Kurunegala SSP M. Jayasekara told the Sunday Observer.
